All post-secondary students at Langara College are General Members of the Langara Students’ Union Association (LSU). Incorporated in 1969, the LSU is the collective voice of over 9000 students at Langara College. We pay membership dues when tuition fees are collected by the College each semester.
In British Columbia dues are collected under the authority of the College and Institutes Act and facilitated through a fee collection agreement with the College. The fees are then used to provide LSU members with our Students’ Union Building and a variety of services, including a computer/meeting room; low-cost faxing, photocopying, and laminating; lounge seating, microwave station & hot water dispenser; and events and activities organized throughout the year.
The LSU Association functions through its Council, Advisors, and Board of Directors. These positions are held by students who are elected by the General Membership to one year terms of office during the first 5 weeks of the Fall Semester.
